Welcome to the Longevity Medical Center
Welcome to the Longevity Medical Center of Santa Barbara. We are an
annual fee practice specializing in Natural Hormone Replacement, Wellness,
and Internal Medicine. Our practice is dedicated to providing a higher
level of care and involvement with each of our patients, and we achieve
this through our annual fee enrollment approach.
The annual fee practice approach allows us to spend greater amounts of
time with each of our patients than is possible with traditional
practices. Due to the fiscal constraints imposed by managed care and
Medicare, reductions in insurance reimbursements and cutbacks in
approved procedures for many types of medical conditions, traditional
practices have found it necessary to reduce time spent with individual
patients and have been forced to consider which corners to cut in order to
remain solvent. For more information about the national organization of
physicians with this type of model of care, please visit the
Society for Innovative
Medical Practice Design.
What types of patients enroll in our program? Our typical patient is a
person who has decided that their healthcare is not an area in which they
are willing to scrimp. They want a higher level of service from
their physician, and they want a physician who is able to spend adequate
time with them in order to ensure that all of their healthcare needs are
being met. They appreciate the importance of preventive medicine and
wellness in the overall scheme of their healthcare and are looking for
more than someone to treat their symptoms when they get sick. Our patients
consider themselves to be educated consumers who realize the value of our
program and its contribution to their well being and longevity. Most
importantly, our patients have decided to take an active role in
maintaining their health and wellness.
In addition to our annual fee program, Dr. Duncan is also accepting
patients on a fee for service basis for patients seeking preventive care,
or those interested in our anti-aging and wellness programs. In
order to receive fee for service care, patients must already have a
primary care provider who can care for their general medical needs. Please
review our Patient Care Policies Page for additional information regarding
this requirement. Fee for service patients are asked to pay $375.00 in
advance of their initial treatment.
